Carolina Silva is a ceramicist and artist living on Vashon Island, where she hand builds her perfectly imperfect plates, platters, decorative objects and more as Dorotea Ceramics. She adorns these objects and her artwork with her signature florals and patterns inspired by nature.

We are so excited to partner with Carolina on this new botanical series that has been created for Casa di LaValle and was inspired by illustrations found in a 14th century natural science encyclopedia. Carolina has brought these historic texts back to life via her interpretation of them into watercolor originals, as well as dishes that look just as beautiful adorning a table as they would a wall.
